Hugh Freeze Named 31st Head Football Coach at Auburn

Former Liberty Head Coach to Lead Tigers

Auburn, Alabama

Auburn University has officially announced the hiring of Hugh Freeze as the 31st head football coach in the program's 129-year history. Freeze will take over for the recently fired Bryan Harsin.

Freeze brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously served as head coach at Liberty University and Ole Miss. During his tenure at Liberty, Freeze led the Flames to 35 wins and two bowl game appearances in just four seasons. He also guided Ole Miss to a Sugar Bowl victory in 2015.

Freeze is known for his offensive prowess, and he is expected to bring a high-scoring attack to Auburn. He will inherit a talented roster that includes quarterback Robby Ashford and running back Tank Bigsby.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hugh Freeze to the Auburn family," said Auburn Athletic Director Allen Greene. "He is a proven winner who knows how to build a successful football program. We believe he is the right man to lead our Tigers back to the top."

Freeze is excited to join Auburn and is eager to get to work. "I am honored and humbled to be the head football coach at Auburn University," said Freeze. "Auburn is a special place with a rich tradition. I can't wait to get started and build on that legacy."
