Teddy Riner Defeats Temur Rakhimov

Paris, France - Teddy Riner has qualified for the final of the men's judo +100kg event at the Paris Olympics after defeating Temur Rakhimov (TJK) in the semi-finals. The French judoka, who is aiming for a record third gold medal, won by ippon with a seoi nage in the second half of the fight.

Riner's Dominating Performance

Riner dominated the contest from the start, controlling Rakhimov with his trademark gripping strength. He took the lead with a waza-ari in the opening minutes before adding a yuko to increase his advantage. Despite Rakhimov's attempts to close the gap, Riner was too strong and eventually secured the victory with his trademark throw.

French Judo Star in Semi-Finals

The semi-final victory sets up a mouthwatering clash in the final, where Riner will face either Tamerlan Bashaev (RUS) or Rafael Buzacarini (BRA). The Frenchman will be the heavy favorite to win his third Olympic gold medal, which would make him the most successful judoka in history.
