After winning the toss, MI captain Hardik Pandya elected to bowl, putting pressure on the RCB batters. The MI bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, proved too strong for the RCB batsmen, restricting them to a total of 1968 runs. Virat Kohli top-scored for RCB with 62 runs while Van der Dussen contributed 54.
In response, MI openers Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav put on a 90-run partnership for the first wicket, setting the tone for the chase. Suryakumar Yadav went on to score 79 runs off just 43 deliveries, while Ishan Kishan chipped in with 53 runs. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten with 46 runs, guiding MI to victory with 27 balls remaining.
This win marks MI's second victory in the tournament, keeping them unbeaten in the season so far. RCB, on the other hand, has lost both of their matches, leaving them with a lot of ground to cover.
